Week 9: Juggling Multiple Tasks and Mentoring an intern

This week felt like a juggling act—I was managing shoots, edits, brand ideation, and got an intern assigned to me. Her help was needed, but it added a new layer of responsibility: explaining processes, breaking down briefs, and setting expectations clearly.

Initially, I underestimated how much hand-holding would be needed. She was here to learn, and I had to balance being patient while still firm with deadlines. I taught her tools and shortcuts, and slowly she began understanding my cues. When communication was clear, it really showed in the work.

It was my first time managing someone else’s workload, and that came with its own lessons. I had to adjust my approach—following up every few hours, being more assertive, and checking in consistently. It made me feel like I was stepping into a new level of accountability and leadership.
