Week 8: The Balance of Vision & Branding.

This week was a combination of diving deep into post-production and getting hands-on with a fresh, exciting branding project.

The bulk of my time went into editing content from the recent wellness shoot, as we had a tight deadline to meet. The editor was tied up with other shoots, so I stepped in to assist with the post-production work.

It was an enriching experience because it allowed me to take charge of how I wanted the final product to look. There was a certain vision I had for the videos and images, and being involved in the editing process helped me bring that vision to life. It was fun to see everything come together.

But the real highlight of the week was the new branding project that landed on my desk. A hospitality company, which is also a listed firm, was expanding its CSR initiatives into a new subsidiary. I was put in charge of the branding for this new venture.

This project felt different, as I had the opportunity to define the brand’s identity from scratch. The challenge was balancing the existing corporate personality of the hospitality company with the fresh, socially-conscious approach of the new subsidiary.

I spent the remainder of my week researching the company’s values and vision, brainstorming concepts, and getting to grips with the direction we wanted to take. It was one of the most fun branding projects I’ve worked on, and I’m really excited to see where it goes.
